Places Leisure - Booking Portal

In December 2024 at OLIVER, I was engaged as the lead UX/UI designer on a fast-turnaround brief for Places Leisure (a national leisure centre operator). Tasked with defining and designing a multi-portal platform for parents to book children’s birthday parties across centres, I was brought in at short notice to hit aggressive milestones—leading discovery, information architecture, user flows, and a rapid wireframing/prototyping sprint to align stakeholders and de-risk development.
I defined five core portals/modules: the customer booking journey, a post-booking management area (to edit details, guests, and add-ons), a staff admin portal for scheduling and capacity management, a catering portal for menu selection and orders, and an invitations/RSVP module. I produced responsive wireframes for mobile and desktop and presented them to the client, partnering closely with developers to map end-to-end flows and resolve edge cases—covering ordering logic, payment and confirmations, and invitation delivery and responses. We then moved into visual design, applying the established Places Leisure brand across the experience, with custom illustrations for catering and imagery for add-ons.
The project ran for four to five months, with ongoing QA and iteration alongside the development team. The final product was well received by Places Leisure and is slated for national rollout in 2026.
